Analisa & Andrew Married!

Analisa and Andrew have been together for quite a while (12 years), and it was one of those situations where it wasn't a matter of if, but when they would tie the knot :) The couple had their wedding at Secret Cove on Maui, which was as beautiful as it was secluded. The morning sun, clear skies, and waves crashing on the shore made it pretty picture perfect :) The couple, along with their families and friends that came were all a great bunch...they made me feel right at home with them, and made it really easy to document the day. Jaxon, Analisa and Andrew's son, had a fair share of the attention throughout the day, and people took turns playing with him. When you see the photos of him, you'll understand why :) After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Duke's in Ka'anapali, for a delicious lunch, that was topped off with these huge servings of macadamia nut ice cream pie! Anyways, on to the photos...congratulations Analisa and Andrew!!

Tammy & Mike Wedding Highlights at the Hale Koa!

Tammy & Mike met while serving alongside one another in the U.S. Air Force. Tammy couldn't help but glow as she described the first time she noticed Mike. She explained that he was very patient and calm in the midst of dealing with crisis situations which revealed character traits she found to be attractive. As you watch the video, you will see that Mike is equally enchanted by Tammy. Knowing Tammy personally for many years made being a part of this wedding all the more special.
Congratulations you two!

En-route :)

What a couple! Doreen and Ashton have such colorful personalities :) This shot wasn't even planned...we were en-route to the last shoot location in downtown, and I decided to walk backwards and snap a few shots as they were strolling along. They were laughing and joking around, and then the sunlight hit them just right and I got this :) More to come from their engagement session!

Derek & Sachie Wedding Highlights (Bayer Estate, Hawaii Kai)

Derek and Sachie chose to get married in Hawaii since both their families live on opposite ends of the world. Derek lives in New York with Sachie, and Sachie's family is in Japan. How logical it was to choose Hawaii as the middle ground....I'm sure there were no complaints. : )
Congratulations guys!!

Jocelyn and RJ Married!!

I first officially met Jocelyn and RJ back in April when they flew to Oahu for their engagement video and photo session. We had been emailing back and forth about booking info for a couple months prior, and it was very awesome to meet the two of them in person! RJ was a total goof during the engagement session, and kept us laughing the entire time with his endless stream of jokes. Jocelyn was more on the quiet side, but I could tell she was the visionary for the wedding, and knew exactly what she wanted. These two have an adorable proposal story, so be sure to check out our engagement video here :)

Anyway, four months later, the Isle Media team flew out to Maui to document Jocelyn and RJ's wedding at the Maui Sheraton. This place is flat out gorgeous, and the wedding is easily one of the most colorful we have ever shot (this blog post is full color for that reason). Jocelyn's favorite color (purple) was the theme of the wedding, and it was very impressive to see it echoed throughout the day. Jocelyn and RJ had a HUGE wedding party, and let me tell you, they guys knew how to have a good time :) From the Tahitian dancing and fireknife performances, to the kissing challenge, to the open dancing at the reception, this wedding was crazy crazy fun :) Oh, and the Isle Media team got pulled onto the dance floor after we were done shooting to take part in the fun!!

Congratulations Jocelyn and RJ!! You guys rock :)

Cora & Keoni // Kawaiaha'o Church // Pac Beach Wedding!

I've personally known Cora and Keoni for several years. First obvious fact, they have a beautiful family. Their sense of family extends beyond just the two of them, but is much larger, which includes their adorable children and close-knit friends. Crazy phresh haircuts, custom pink button downs, and a gorgeously decorated reception- all things that Cora envisioned for one of the biggest days of her life. Spectacular.
Keoni was the first to shed tears at their ceremony, and with all of the built up momentum, dramatic organ playing, who could hold back.
I'm so happy that video was something that you both decided to have capture your entire day, so that these moments can be relieved time and time again.
Your friend!

Jane and Ray Engaged!

So Jane loves teal. A LOT. When Alan and I met her for consultation, everything she owned, from pens, to planning binder, to slippers, were all teal. As a result, it was a no-brainer that her engagement theme was teal :) Jane and Ray went all out for vintage props and wardrobe...balloons, a full picnic setup, and a two sets of teal clothes! These two were a ton of fun to hang out with, as you'll see in the photos :) Enjoy!!

Joceyln & RJ // Married on the Kaanapali Coast, Maui!

I first met RJ and Jocelyn last year, when they first flew to Oahu to greet all of their venders and executed their engagement video/photos. My first impression, RJ is a jokester! But all business at the same time. Jocelyn, very sweet, yet sassy. I knew that for their wedding video, I wanted to incorporate all of these humorous elements... which I found wasn't that hard to do. : )
After the success of our same-day-edit, Jocelyn and RJ invited the Isle Media crew onto the dance floor! Y'all got some moves!
And if you haven't seen Jocelyn and RJ's engagement video, here's the story about how it all began:

Thanks Jocelyn and RJ for the opportunity, and the great time we had!

Isle Media Travels to Poipu, Kauai for Don & Annie's Wedding!

Upon arriving, I was greeted by Annie and her bridesmaids, clad in matching white teddies and hot shorts. No, not shy at all. : P One of the most ambitious schedules I have ever witnessed ,was executed by Annie and Don which took place in Poipu, Kauai. Annie arranged back to back, dual ceremonies, one traditional in a catholic church, followed by a contemporary hawaii beach ceremony. No details were missed, including custom handmade foot jewelry, and a stunning dress change. Let's just say a lot happened in those 5 hours. Fortunately, I will be seeing Annie and Don again, as Isle Media has been booked to fly out to Dallas, Texas, for Don's brothers big day happening this December.
Thank you Annie and Don and congratulations!

Bridal Before & After Series!

For Mabel's bridal makeup, I created a soft smokey effect on the eyes and sheer gloss on the lips to give her face a nice balance.  For her hair, I added soft curls with some of it pulled back and pinned under her bridal veil. To view more photos of Mabel's wedding and her bridal party click here!

Jackie and Cole Married!! // Photo+Video Highlights

Highlights Video just added!  Enjoy!!

What a couple :) From the first photo of their engagement shoot, to the last image of their wedding, Jackie and Cole have been an absolute joy to work with! These two have such animated personalities, while also being incredibly down-to-earth people. Jackie and Cole's big day at the Hale Koa was a wonderful fusion of traditional and contemporary elements. For the traditional side, Jackie wore the wedding dress that her grandmother got married in. At the reception, there were wedding photos of past generations from both families. Bringing in the contemporary side, Jackie and Cole had a high-energy wedding party entrance, and a stylish bride-groom dance with sunglasses :)

Blue and white. Adorable kids. Crazy wedding party formals. Bubbles at the ceremony. A very very photogenic wedding party. Tears and laughter at the reception. The Kolohe Corner. A fully-stocked candy bar. The shoe game. A cake fight. Passing around the couples kiss. And of course, Jackie and Cole :)

Congratulations you two!!  (please be sure to click on "Read More" for the full blog post!

Mabel and Chad Married!!

Mabel and Chad's wedding was full of color and animated expressions. From a rocking wedding party, to a very cute owl theme, Mabel and Chad's big day at the Hale Koa was a ton of fun to cover! The ceremony was one of the happiest we've ever documented at the Hale Koa, and it was wonderful to see these two finally tie the knot in the presence of their family and friends :)

So many awesome moments from this wedding...enjoy!!

Christine and Rob Wedding Highlights (Ihilani, Koolina)

Christine and Rob traveled all the way from where Rob is stationed, Japan, to get married in Christine's dream destination, Hawaii.  Christine's wedding was our first military themed ceremony, with sharp white decorated uniforms, swords drawn and live acapella.  It was a very impressive site to see.

Congratulations Christine and Rob!

Rockin the Purple :)

Here's a couple sneak peak shots from Jocelyn and RJ's wedding this past Friday at the Maui Sheraton! This is the largest wedding party I've ever photographed, and it was very impressive when they all lined up together for formal photos...it was a sea of purple :) All I can say is this group knew how to have a good time...stay tuned for some crazy dance photos from Jocelyn and RJ's wedding!

All Smiles :)

Receptions give me some of the best opportunities to grab emotions. Alison and Todd's reception was brimming with everything from tearful, tender moments, to gut-wrenching laughter. Can't wait to show you guys more photos from this wedding :)

On another note, tomorrow is gonna be crazy for us! A photo and video team will be shooting a wedding (with SDE) on Maui, and another video team will simultaneously be shooting a wedding (with SDE) at the Ihilani Resort! Lots to come on the blog!

Ryan & Mayuko Married! (SDE)

Ryan and Mayuko chose the perfect day to get married. The sun was shining brightly as Mayuko walked down the aisle escorted by her father. The ceremony and reception was held at the Waialea Country Club.
People often say oposites attract; and in this case, it is very true. Ryan is reserved and quiet and Mayuko couldn't hold back her feelings if she tried to! :)
Congratulations Ryan and Mayuko!!

A Wedding Entrance From Above!

I've shot a lot of weddings, but this ceremony entrance WOWed me. Jeff is a pilot, and flew Kim and himself to their ring ceremony in Kahala! The whole event was Kim's vision, and I must say, it was absolutely beautiful! More to come later!

Alisha & Sean Married!!

Alisha and Sean's wedding had an interesting twist: no real flowers were used in the entire event. Instead, Alisha wanted something a little different, and she, along with her bridesmaids, folded origami flowers for all the bouquets and centerpieces. It was spectacular, to say the least :) The wedding was a late afternoon affair over at the Hale Koa, and resulted in some very nice lighting during the ceremony, a definite plus for our photo and video teams :)

What I loved about this wedding was how the personalities of Alisha and Sean came through in the event. Alisha's fondness with pink and origami was apparent in the design and decor, and Sean's love for wrestling was reflected in his very bold, grand entrance, along with an awesome WWE cake made by his cousin Christine (my very good college friend who I met the couple through) and her mom. Oh, and the reception! Alisha and Sean wanted to make sure the reception was a lot of fun for the guests, and incorporated a ton of festivities, from a duo ukulele performance, to the balloon popping game and show game!

Congratulations Alisha & Sean!

Behind the Scenes with Dhyana, Owner of Face Art Beauty!

Company spotlight video just officially released!   Enjoy.

To see it larger, check out the video on our vimeo page!

It's an understatement to say that Dhyana, owner of Face Art Beauty, and her team enjoy hair & makeup. These artists LOVE the world of hair & makeup, and it was a real privilege for Alan and I to join them behind the scenes on a creative shoot!

Dhyana and her team of makeup artists each had a vision for what they wanted to create on their models, and it was very inspiring to watch them piece together all the elements to complete their look. Airbrush, hairspray, tape, pain brushes, clips, curling irons, assorted jewels, black paint, green moss, and glitter...let's just say it was a very colorful set :)
