Dorina and Ying Married!

Ying and Dorina decided to have their small, intimate wedding at Willows Restaurant, in the company of all their family and friends who all flew in from California. There were some truly memorable moments from this wedding... the couple had one of the best reactions we've ever seen during the First Look, and everyone had a good laugh when Ying's brother had to use a scissors to open the sand pouring capsule during the ceremony :) Thank you Ying and Dorina for having us at your wedding! Congratulations!

April and Tyson Wedding Highlights (Loulu Palm Estate, North Shore Oahu) from Isle Media on Vimeo.

We love shooting at the Loulu Estate!  Plantation house, lawn, beach, sunset, all in one.  April and Tyson had a destination wedding here on Oahu, blending both traditional and Laotion cultures.   We had so much fun at your wedding!

Congratulations to you both!

Elena and Ian Married!!

Elena and Ian's wedding was very personal to me, as both of them were my former classmates in college. I took photography classes with Ian (who also shoots weddings himself up in Oregon), and went through the history program with Elena. It was an honor when they asked me to be their photographer, and I was even more excited to find out that they were getting married in Elena's hometown of Hilo, a place where I hadn't photographed a wedding before :)

The ceremony was at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a venue with a classic, and grandeur feel to it, and the reception was at Aunty Sally's Luau House, which was full of traditional Filipino food prepared by Elena's family. The day flew by...can't believe you guys are married! Congratulations!!

Katharina and David Wedding Highlights // Haiku, Maui

It was so wonderful to return to Haiku, Maui for Katharina and David's wedding, full of surprises and unique traditions. A ceremony labyrinth, a samurai performance, a trash the dress session, folk dancing and a sky lantern launch...to name a few. No two weddings are ever the same!
Congratulations to Katharina and David.

Behind the Scenes at the Kwan Wedding!

One very cool thing about shooting weddings is having the opportunity to travel to the outer islands, and in some cases, even the mainland. When Michelle and Joe booked us for their Maui wedding back in December, a full team of us flew up to Kahalui to document their day. As with our other travels, we were sure to make the most the trip :) Enjoy!!

Lauren and Marc // Married at Sunset Ranch!

Lauren and Marc were marred at Sunset Ranch, located on the North Shore of Oahu. One of our favorite locations to date. Every now and then, a couple surprises us with something we've never seen before at a wedding. In Lauren and Marc's case, an ice cream truck! We loved it and so did everyone else.  Congratulations !

Hiroko & Daisuke Married!

Hiroko & Daisuke flew from Yokohama for their intimate wedding in the Big Island! They got ready at a beautiful resort hotel, Mauna Lani Bay in South Kohala coast, then had a ceremony in Kona, then reception back at Mauna Lani Bay. Both Hiroko and Daisuke work for a TV production company in Tokyo - they were rather comfortable behind the camera (just like me!), but this time, they were in front of the camera :-) A few days before their wedding, Kona had pretty thick vog and the sunset was less colorful - on the contrary, on their wedding day, it was just like magic that the sky was so clear and the sunset was so beautiful! It was wonderful to be a part of their day!

Congratulations!

Sun and Justin Married!

Sun and Justin's wedding at the Hale Koa flew by for us! It seemed like Zairrah just started putting makeup on Sun, as the ceremony came to a close. The wedding had some great details, from the Love sign, to the Mr. and Mrs. cards that Sun and Justin used for the formals. For a wedding that took place during the middle of winter, we were truly lucky to have some amazing weather with morning sunshine! Congratulations you two!

AccesSurf!!

AccesSurf from Isle Media on Vimeo.

This year, we've discovered that the work we produce can go beyond weddings and commercial and help others in the community. We recently partnered up with AccesSurf, a non-profit organization that gives children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy surfing and water recreation. The organization holds monthly events at the beach, drawing disabled participants and their families for an afternoon of fun and recreation. This past weekend, we went out to White Plains Beach to document the February event. It was quite an eye-opening experience for all of us! Just to see the excitement and joy in the eyes of the participants as they got to surf or play in the water really hit home, and it was awesome to document the whole event. Hard Rock Cafe provided food for the event, so everyone was well-fed and happy after a great time in the water :)

Serena and Hudson Wedding Highlights!

About a week before Serena and Hudson's wedding, we received "the call!" : ) I did a quick tour of their gorgeous property and fell instantly in love with the back drop, the family, and lets not forget their precious dog. We love couples that are fun and charismatic and weddings that are small and intimate. The blindfold was a cute idea! We only had 3 hours to capture everything before they took off on a flight to Lanai for their honeymoon. Congratulations to you both and thank you to the families that brought it all together.

Sincerely,

Makeup/Hair BTS with Lead Stylist

Our bride, Sunh, requested that I create a tousled backsweep updo hair style for her wedding.
To achieve this look, I used a curling iron to curl her ends and pinned them up.

Tracy and Ben Married!!

Tracy and Ben had their destination wedding at the stunning St. Augustine's Chapel and Paradise Cove in Ko Olina. Friends and family, from as far as New York and California, flew in for the couple's big day. Tracy and Ben had an awesome bridal party which kept the energy at the top throughout the day, whether it was their dancing grand entrance, or their crazy reception speeches. Everyone had a good laugh when Ben put on lip balm before giving Tracy their first kiss during the ceremony, and Tracy herself pulled out some dance moves throughout the reception night! Lots of great moments from this wedding :) Congratulations you two!
