Isle Media's Second Anniversary Showcase: Beyond Weddings

Isle Media Beyond Weddings (showcase 3/4) from Isle Media on Vimeo.

We're storytellers at heart, and over the past year, we've had the privilege to tell stories outside of weddings, from nonprofit events, to music videos, to commercial projects. Learning about the people in front of our cameras, and then piecing together their voices to shed light on something unique has helped us keep things in perspective, both in our profession, and in life. Thank you to everyone who has given us a chance to tell their stories this past year :)

2013 Isle Media Company Shoot!

In light of our two year anniversary this month, we decided to gather the team together for our annual company photo shoot! We shot two themes...a formal black & white look, and a bold, colorful hipster theme. The shoot was done over at Foton Studio. Zairrah and her team provided hair/makeup for the girls, Alan and the video team filmed some BTS stuff for our May 31st showcase, and the photo team conducted the photo shoot. Below are the updated portraits for each member of our team. Enjoy!

Behind the Scenes at the Kwan Wedding!

One very cool thing about shooting weddings is having the opportunity to travel to the outer islands, and in some cases, even the mainland. When Michelle and Joe booked us for their Maui wedding back in December, a full team of us flew up to Kahalui to document their day. As with our other travels, we were sure to make the most the trip :) Enjoy!!

Behind the Scenes at the 2013 Hawaii Bridal Expo!

Here's some BTS photos of us at the 2013 Hawaii Bridal Expo! We had a double booth this year, and we eager to try out a simpler, cleaner layout and look. Yesterday was the largest turnout we've ever seen on a Friday at the expo, and today had a steady stream of people throughout the day :)

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth so far! For those of you who are coming tomorrow, we look forward to seeing you!

The 2013 Isle Media Team!!

Alan | CEO/Founder
Alan first became interested in media through Youtube superstar influences including Devin Supertramp and Wong Fu Productions, whom he considers to be some of the most innovative and creative artists on the planet. Alan was inspired to buy his first DSLR camera, which eventually led to the creation of Isle Media founded on May 31, 2011. His story began when a previous co-worker asked Alan to shoot his first wedding with no formal training or experience. One wedding, led to over 100 weddings in a years time, having shot all over Oahu, Kauai, Kona, Maui and recently in Las Vegas and San Francisco. In addition to being Isle Media’s Chief Executive Officer, Alan oversees the video, photo and hair/make-up teams. Alan hopes to one day release his own full feature film on the big screen. Pastimes include weight training, Bikram Yoga, wine and traveling. Alan holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Hawaii Pacific University.

Merry Christmas!!!

Since everyone usually smiles in their Christmas photos, we decided to take a different approach this year :) Merry Christmas from all of us at Isle Media, Grinch style ;)

Isle Media Holiday Video. Come get to know us!

Isle Media Christmas Photoshoot and Music Video ! (Kunia, Hawaii) from Isle Media on Vimeo.

Being that its the holiday season and all, what better time then now then to reflect on everything we are grateful for.  I've come to the realization that Isle Media is more than just a job to us.  We are a family.   Our shared passion for media and art binds us like glue. Whether we are out in the field shooting, or in the office editing, we cherish every moment we have being able to do what we love every single day.

Today, it was our turn to be in front of the cameras. In which most of the time, the Isle Media boys ran away from me saying... "DAD, THE CAMERA IS MAKING ME FEEL AWKWARD!!!" Our goal in this piece is that even though we are almost always serious at work, every now and then, we enjoy cutting loose and having fun.

Canon meets Nikon. Photo meets video. Old school meets new school. Reinventing ourselves. Special thanks to the entire team for all of their hard work! We have some new faces!!! : )

Videography // Alan, Jack, Trevor, Michael, Vanessa, Travis
Photography // Reese, Kay, Lester, Daren
Hair/Make-up // Zairrah, Meileen

Enjoy,
-Alan and the entire Isle Media Ohana.
