Shar and Danny Engaged!

I've known Danny personally for over 10 years, first meeting him when I was 18 years old   during my college years.  We came to know one another via an ad for a high-rise, penthouse apartment in Downtown Honolulu. I was dying to live there, but at the time I had no job, just a measly student.  Danny was the property manager.  

My interview consisted of one question.

"Are you going to pay the rent?"  Danny asked me.  I responded with a confident "YES!" and there he handed me the key.  (...he must have known I was a good guy!!)

Little did we both realize, but we would remain friends for over a decade, and 14 years later, we are now getting booked to cover his big day.  We are all so very happy (and relieved, HA!) he is marrying Shar, a very talented local artist/musican/songwriter.   She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside (go Danny!).

Sidenote ::  Many of our followers know that I am one of the videographers for Isle Media.  Being that Danny and I had so much history, I decided to take a stab at their engagement photos.  Here is my debut as an Isle Media photographer.  : )

Joy and Aaron Same-Day-Edit (Hale Koa, Waikiki)

We've known Joy and Aaron for quite some time now. In fact, they were the first clients to book all of our COMPLETE services across the board, video+photo+ and hair-make-up for their entire day! From their initial consultation with us, to their engagement video and photoshoot at HPU, to their big day, working with Joy and Aaron was a wonderful experience, and we're excited to have shared the whole process with them.

Makeup & Hair for Joy and her bridal party!

Our bride, Joy, was definitely a joy to work with!  With her bubbly personality, working with her made it really fun and easy.  She wore her makeup light and natural.  Her hair was styled in a half up, half down do with soft curls.  This bridal style fit perfectly for a garden wedding.

Marie and Maurice Wedding Highlights (Lanikuhonua, Koolina)

Being there and being an integral part of Marie and Maurice's wedding day was special because it was the most intimate setting that I have personally ever been in for a wedding. Alan and I was there with them at every step of the way when we trekked from Turtle Bay, to Giovanni's shrimp truck for lunch where Maurice got to tag their initials on the truck and were given a funnel cake and a bracelet by one of the pop up shops near by. Afterwards we had a spur of the moment photo shoot in front of Crawford's Convalescent Home and finally made our way to Lanikohonua to make things official for these two. What made it most special was the fact that this wedding was an adventure not just for Marie and Maurice but for us as well and for that they will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you Marie and Maurice for letting us witness your special day.

Hair and Makeup for Sarah!

Kara and Michael Wedding Highlights (Honolulu, Oahu)

Michael's a sure lucky guy to have Kara as his beautiful and sweet wife.  ; )  From the early planning stages, Kara and Michael were extremely easy to work with, which really contributed into their wedding day being so fluid and effortless.  Their smiles were contagious to all those around them, and it was such a super happy wedding here on Oahu.   Congratulations!

Cassiee and Eldon's post wedding shoot!

It's not too often that we get to shoot a wedding at a spectacular venue like Kahua Ranch on the Big Island. It's even rarer to have the chance to revisiting the venue with the couple to do more wedding photos. Well, Cassiee and Eldon presented me with this opportunity, as they had a few ideas and props that they never were able to use at the wedding, and all I gotta say is I'm glad they did :)

Liz and Brett Married!

Liz and Brett tied the knot at the Star of the Sea Church followed by a gorgeous reception at the Kahala Hotel & Resort. Since they are originally from the mainland, their wedding was cerebrated by lots of families and friends from all over the place. The open mic speeches by their friends were very enjoyable, and it was great to learn about the couple with lots of laughter! Congratulations Liz & Brett!
