Bone Marrow Registry Golf Tournament

Recently we received the opportunity to give back to the community and provide our services to Hawaii's Bone Marrow Donor Registry at their annual golf tournament held at the Hawaii Prince Golf course.  Volunteers, bone marrow donors, and recipients gathered together and had a great time on the golf course.  It's always great to be able to do what you love for a worthy cause, I was extremely humbled in the dinner that took place after the tournament as cancer survivors talked about their experiences.

We highly encourage our couples to loosen up on the big day. Sometimes, if may require a little alcoholic influence, in which we say go for it! Jane and Harold sure didn't hold back on that one (LOL). My favorite line during their personalized vow exchange was, "I am yours, and you are MINE." Written by Harold #likeaboss! They had a couples Tahitian duet together towards the peak of the night which made the audience roar with laughter and applause. What a great day and night!

Before & After Hair & Makeup for Melanie!

Melanie looks elegant and chic wearing this classic wedding chignon wrapped with a braid giving her hair an intricate look.  For makeup, a tinge of pink was highlighted on her eyes and applied on her cheeks and lips.  The white flower in the hair is a great touch for this formal bridal look.

Cori and Justin's marriage is another beautiful story of local girl meets mainland boy. We were happy to see splashes of Hawaii culture integrated into their wedding day, including a personalized Hula surprise for him. But thats not all, Cori even designed custom jewelry for all her bridesmaids. She is super talented! And Justin loves his J's! I was informed that by licking the shoes you claim them as yours. I learn something new everyday! Lol.

Maria and Daniel first inquired with us over a year and a half ago, and it was so nice for their big day to finally come around.  What was most impressive was that Maria and Daniel have been together 17+ years!   They are originally from New Zealand, although they currently live in Australia....and brought a chill, laid back island vibe to their wedding day (thank you for that!).  We loved their grande entrance, and the many little cultural touches they had to the decor and entertainment.

Hair and Makeup for Maria from Australia!

Today the Isle Media Beauty Team prepared Maria and her bridal party's makeup and hair for her big day at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki.  This lovely bride flew all the way from Australia to Hawaii, one of her favorite destinations, to marry her true love at The Ocean Crystal Chapel.  Please stand by for another blog-post on this wedding.  For now, have a look at the before and after makeup and hair.

Field Trip to Kunia Camp (Kunia, Oahu)

I had the honor and privilege of being asked to shoot Kunia Camp's first ever field trip to youth wanting to learn more about local agriculture and sustainability.   We started off in the kukui nut fields where the students picked and bagged nuts gathered by hand.  From there the nuts were counted, weighed and husked.  We learned about the many different applications to the kukui nut, including, oil, lip balm, lotion, soap and even salad dressing!   The students participated in harvesting and sanitizing their own lettuce.   Last, we sampled sugar case juice freshly squeezed from a sugar cane processor.  Lunch was complete!   Yum!

Thanks Kunia Camp for allowing me to be part of this project!  Lucky we live Hawaii!

Seeing Leilani and Miles get married was an event to behold.  It was a reunion of sorts as many old friends from my High school days gathered together to celebrate and watch them cross over into their life together.  In a way this made me feel like my own sister was getting married.

It's not so uncommon nowadays to get ready in one hotel, and married in another! Kathy and Derek utilized the best of both worlds by starting off at the Trump Waikiki, and ending up down the street for the ceremony/reception at the Hale Koa. Kathy and her friends were super giggly all morning. I couldn't figure out why! Perhaps it could have been a bunch of cameras in their faces (or the mimosas). Either way, made for good photo/video ; )

It's so nice to have clients that follow and appreciate our work from thousands of miles away. We had another opportunity to travel this summer for Kristin and Jake's wedding in Madison, Wisconsin. The day started shooting in a church for their traditional ceremony, followed by a walk along the water where Kristin and Jake first met. It was so breathtaking to see the capital building first hand (and be sure to look for the squirrel!).

2014 Christmas Photo Shoot BTS!

Here's some BTS photos of us from our 2014 Christmas photo shoot at the Beachfront Oasis Estate! This was our first time including Alan's girls in the photos, so it definitely shaped the schedule of our shoot lol.

Before and After Makeup and Hair for Charity!

Charity and Bridesmaids at the beautiful Paradise Bay Resort. 

At Charity's trial, we took this before and after picture to see what a big difference makeup can do.  We love to enhance what the bride already has - Natural Beauty.  For makeup, shades of purple, browns, and golds were dusted on her eyes while keeping everything neutral and radiant.  Her hair was twirled in loose waves in a half up half down do.

2013 Christmas Photo Shoot!

In keeping to our holiday tradition, we did a Christmas photo shoot for 2013! The shoot was done over at the Beachfront Oasis Estate in Hawaii Kai. Alan's girls, Ava and Addison, joined us for the first time in the photos, so it was great to add them to our happy tradition :)

Rachel's makeup was kept simple.  Tones of beige and gold was applied on her eyes for that soft overall effect. 



Her hair was pinned up in a low off centered chignon designed with these beautiful cymbidium orchids.

Chanel and Enoka Married! (Hale Koa, Waikiki)

Chanel and Enoka go wayyyyy back to high school days when Enoka would court Chanel by escorting her to and from all of her classes. It seemed as though no time had passed as Enoka watched Chanel walk down the ceremony isle with the same eyes that quickly watered up at first sight of her in that beautiful wedding dress. This was a long time coming for these two and we were so happy to be part of it.

Charzelle and James Married at Laie Temple! (Northshore, Oahu)

Charzelle and James's wedding was our first Mormon wedding. The interesting part : no outsiders are allowed to witness the ceremony inside of the temple. That means no pictures or video : ( So, we had to be a little creative with the shooting to say the least. Charzelle and James love to dance (can you tell?) and we had fun with the getting ready and formals. Their friends were clowns too, and we loved it.

Over a year and a half ago, Isle Media participated in the Maui Bridal Expo. We had a grande price giveaway and Chantelle happened to be the lucky winner. : ) Although we have shot in Maui many times, we were very excited that their ceremony was at the historical Keawalai Congregational Church. That was a first for us. Chantelle and Kawika had an ENORMOUS reception. Lots of great live music and great vibes, it was too bad we had to come home!
