Julie and Anson Engaged!

Julie and Anson got a jump start on their engagement shoot (their wedding isn't until 2014) because Anson will be deploying overseas for a while. It was great to hang out with these two for the afternoon. Their puppy, Nala, also came along for some photos, and kept up the energy during the shoot :)

Reina & Taro Married!

Reina and Taro decided to have their dream destination wedding in Hawaii.  Their day started from getting ready at the historical Royal Hawaiian Hotel, enjoying some champagne gift from their friend, having the ceremony at Calvary by The Sea church then photo session in Downtown. They brought some props and balloons - which made the photo shoot fun and cute :) This time I made this blog post entirely Black & White to match the vintage and classic feel of the day - Enjoy!

Arthur Murray Dance School Spotlight Ball

When I met Gisella and Rod, the owners of the Arthur Murray Dance Center in Honolulu they described the kind of dancing they teach is what you would see on the Television show Dancing with the Stars.  I was immediately blown away with awe when I saw the students and instructors dance the night away at the Ko'olau Ball Room for their Spotlight Ball recently.  The theme for the night was 1940's gangster and featured students dancing with their instructors to show off routines they've practiced that did nothing short but impress.  Aside from that, there were special dance routines performed by Joleen Iwaniec, who recently competed in the 2013 Miss Hawaii Pageant and Roberto Gonzales, the judge of the featured performances of the night and a wonderful musical performance by Streetlight Cadence. Congratulations to all for a job well done.

Kate and Barron Same-Day-Edit (Trump Hotel, Waikiki)

Kate and Barron came to us wanting something unconventional, out-of-the-box and unique for their wedding video. And whenever we get the green light to go crazy with our creative minds, we seize the opportunity. Our goals for Kate and Barron, was to exude elegance, timelessness and beauty. Which wasn't very hard for us, considering the two of them when together, were just so naturally charismatic.

For this wedding highlight, we probably broke ever cardinal rule to wedding videography. New angles and absolutely no traditional shots. Tilt shifts galore. The ceremony seemed like it was out of a dream.

We had so much fun.

Makeup & Hair for Jane and bridal party!

Isle Media stylist, Meileen and Zairrah, created loose spiral curls in a half up half down down with hair parted to the side for this bridal party.  For the makeup, the stylists gave the girls soft, glowy and peachy cheeks with natural but defined eyes.

Lovella Jane & Harold Engaged!

I love themed photo sessions with lots of props, and Jane and Harold's engagement shoot was exactly this! Their milk & cookie theme, picnic under a tent worked very well in the morning soft light in a forest. Jane is very crafty - I loved all her DIY chalkboard style signs which fit very nicely with their concept :) Jane and Harold were very fun to work with, fun to goof around with each other - and I was happy to capture their precious time together. Their engagement video shoot & interviews will be shown at their reception so look forward to it!

Congratulations Jane and Harold! Can't wait for your wedding in July :)

Karen and Armando Wedding & After

Karen and Armando had an intimate wedding with their closest family and friends in Waimanalo; our day began at the Hobbit House, it was the most interesting venue on Oahu that I got to shoot yet.  It definitely made the photography more personal for Karen and Armando.  After the ceremony on the beach, we went off to Pearl Country Club for their reception.  Within a couple of days we all continued our time together because Karen wanted to do some urban shots in Waikiki.

For our opening video, we decided to make things interesting, by doing same day edit for our own event! The ending part of the video was shot and edited a few hours before the showcase, and transitions into our grand entrance :)
